Nick Messina from INSURGENCE FILM STUDIOS joins us to discuss their revolutionary YouTube production and distribution model for full length, micro-budget films (with budgets from $10,000 to $100,000). They run these on their V CHANNEL on YouTube which claims to be “the fastest growing YouTube Channel for full length movies” with hundreds of full length, low budget films which they also distribute to other free movie apps like Tubi and Pluto. Collecting half the ad revenue from these rapidly growing AVOD (ie-Advertiser supported Video on Demand platforms) which they then share with the actual film producers they finance. They have no creative control over the content they finance. They simply search the sites, see what people are searching for and viewing, supply the indie directors with this data on “what’s working” and then finance them to make more (using the old Roger Corman model of quick, cheap, entertaining pictures that all make money).
